จัดแสดงระหว่างวันที่ 12 กันยายน – 5 ตุลาคม 2561 ณ Thavibu Art Gallery

Thavibu Art Gallery is pleased to showcase 12 oil and acrylic canvas paintings by two well-established Thai artists, Santi Thongsuk and Therdkiat Wangwatcharakul in an exhibition titled, “States of Suspension” from September 12 – October 5, 2018.

Fully embracing the artists’ very different worlds, “States of Suspension” displays Santi’s gamut of figures gracefully suspended in ethereal space, whilst Therdkiat’s rusting vehicles run on outmoded suspension.

On one hand, Therdkiat’s oil and acrylic on canvas paintings exude a sense of melancholia and nostalgia for a way of life which has either vanished or been pushed out of sight behind Bangkok’s sleek, ultra-modern veneer. On the other hand, the muscular, supremely supple human figures in Santi Thongsuk’s oil paintings portray the fluidity of movement through a highly developed kinesthetic awareness involving strength, mobility, and coordination.

Santi Thongsuk and Therdkiat Wangwatcharakul are both well-established and highly-regarded award-winning artists with an impressive history of awards along with solo, duo and group exhibitions in Thailand, as well as elsewhere in Southeast Asia, Europe and beyond.
